I bought the 15 edition of this series a couple of years. I was really excited because it was my first gaming laptop. I played a lot of games but there has been a serious fan issue for the last 2 months. I filed the complaint and expected to get my laptop repaired within a week but to my surprise the so called brand hp has the worst after purchase services. The repair services for hp where I live are managed by a tech company named sysnet and they do not provide proper guidance and take a lot of time to execute the repair. Still waiting for my laptop to be repaired.

I am going to clarify some conflicting info out there here in this reviewPros: 1. NVME SSD Gen 4.0 1TB (not yet sure about 2nd slot, even the HP technical support has “zero” knowledge about this product)2. DDR5 ram3. Extremely good thermal control, did not cross 70C after continuous 2 hours of graphics intensive games.4. Intel wifi chipset, super fast WIFI 6e ax, virtually no latency. (no comparison with ASUS TUF series or even 2022 rog series, most of them uses mediatek)5. To boost internet speed further for gaming+streaming, HP supports DUAL FORCE (WIFI+Ethernet) which is just mind blowing.6. OMEN gaming hub is simply the best, you can check system vitals, boost gaming performance, boost or block wifi/internet of your choice of applications, MUX switch available, customize rgb keyboard with Omen light studio, control fan speed auto/max/manual and much more.7. 100% sRGB screen.8. Brightness of the screen is good enough.9. Comparatively much better webcam than other laptop at this range.10. Dual booting Linux, and works like a charm, no device or driver malfunctioning.Cons:1. As expected with any gaming laptops, speakers are just blah.. But usable.2. Blue light filtered display is bit off putting, but anyone can calibrate the colors, reduce red and green and voila, normal screen.3. One can expect a QHD (2k) display, but to be honest, FHD with 144hz is already good enough given that they are offering absolute latest and gratest of hardware (nvme ssd gen4 + ddr5 ram + rtx 3060 6gb + latest intel wifi chipset etc etc, what more could I ask for for this price)4. Bit of wobbliness of screen (not too much to annoy you)5. Sometimes colors feels like overtly saturated (again, calibration can fix that)Been using it for more than few weeks, and HP can’t even extend the warranty because the laptop is so new in the market, they have not updated their system yet.Final verdict: This laptop is probably the most underrated gaming laptop in the market. Only few people talked about this model in online forums with just speculations and misinformation. This laptop does not have any flashy gaming looks to it, it sits on your lap or desk with very simple but elegant look that no other gaming laptops out there can bring. Just loving it.Will update further as I keep exploring this beautiful looking beast.FYI: I purchased it from HP world store, as all online platform has some sort of delay for dispatching and I could not wait to have it.Updates:After 1 month:A. There is an empty second ssd slot inside, could not confirm whether it is Gen4 or Gen3. Reportedly others telling that it is a Gen3 nvme slot.B. Left speaker is louder than right or should I say, right speaker is quiter than left. Because Left speaker makes broken/squeaky noise when volume is high. Righy speaker got no issue. Tried audio balancing, did not help much.C. Linux usage is tricky. Not all Linux os working correctly. Here is my curated list so far.Fedora-works great without NVIDIAPopOS-works perfectly out of the box, no issues. Both DISCRETE NVIDIA and Hybrid NVIDIA works flawlessly.Arch (vanilla)-Could not make the audio work (both pulse audio and Pipewire not working, need to dig deeper, but I gave up after 4 days of constant tinkering)EndeavourOS- Works okaish. Trickiest part is after installation, first boot is troublesome, interference with NVIDIA. With cli, made it work properly. Now it is working properly in Discrete NVIDIA mode with optimus-manager set to NVIDIA only.
